Abstract:
Second language acquisition means acquiring language and communicative competence. Plunging a student into a language media can be seen as the principal task for this process. In order to acquire second language successfully and develop their speech behavior bilingual students are offered sets of lingo-cultural concepts which are necessary for improving students’ bilingual competences. It is essential to elaborate specific approach to develop speech strategies for bilingual students because in the process of studying there appear certain types of concepts relevant for their future profession. One of the basic means to determine such concepts involves analyzing curriculum for various levels in various educational institutions. Defining relevance of this or that set of lingo-cultural concepts and peculiarities of professional activities of bilingual graduates determines contents of the concepts. That is why a teacher of a second language should be adept at cultural linguistics, be able to determine key notions and their contents, describe language and verbal expressive means. Therefore a teacher chooses basic concepts relevant for the professional communication.
The article studies acquisition of Russian cultural concepts by foreign students. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problem of mastering Russian cultural linguistic concepts by foreign students. The purpose has determined the goals which read as follows:
1. The range of linguocultural concepts is determined;
2. The structure and areas for mastering concepts by bilingual students are studied,
3. Difficulties in mastering basic concepts related to the specific mentality of native speakers are determined.

The authors have determined the set of linguocultural concepts, their structure and the level of perception by bilingual students. Basic concepts are considered basic cultural notions necessary for professional communication. As a material for the research the authors used various dictionaries, such as lexical, phraseological and paroemiological dictionaries, as well as dictionary of Russian concepts and curriculums of Russian as a foreign language. Methods and techniques employed are as follows: descriptive, distributional, interpretational, analysis of theoretical material and language phenomena.
