Abstract:
A historical view shows that agricultural fields in university were considered as mannish fields in Iran. But in the past two decades, ladies showed a great desire to enter the schools of agriculture so that in some agricultural fields the number of women surpassed men. The aim of this study is to analyze the academic parameters of agricultural students according to gender. The study is a quantitative one and survey technic has been implemented. The study population consisted of all 402 students who entered agricultural fields at the UAST (Kerman Branch) during six years. The required data were gatherred directly from education records for all 402 students. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software (version 16). In this way, the methods of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used. In this study gender analysis, based on educational background including field of diploma, time gap between graduating from high school and university entrance year, GPA of high school, the number of failing course units, duration of study, GPA of university, and age at the time of admission to universities were compared. Also the correlation among variables were analyzed. Finally, some recommendation according to findings have been developed.
