Abstract:
In the 21st century, mankind has entered the era of information technology and digitization. Information technology and digital technology have been widely used in various fields of society, and have triggered profound changes in various industries. A new distance education model—mobile learning has also come into being.

In distance learning, foreign language teaching has the characteristics of strong practicality. In the process of learning a foreign language, students need to undergo repeated training at any time on various occasions in order to achieve the purpose of fully understanding and mastering the language they have learned. However, due to the increasing number of foreign language learners and the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in early 2020, traditional classroom teaching can no longer meet the needs of foreign language teaching. Therefore, the distance education model based on mobile learning will become an important form of foreign language teaching.

The article adopts the form of literature research, questionnaire survey, etc., to discuss the construction of the distance learning system, analyze the characteristics of distance foreign language teaching, and provide the following suggestions for distance learning of foreign languages:
1. Strengthen the identification of the characteristics of distance foreign language teaching under the epidemic
2. Effectively promote the in-depth development of distance foreign language teaching

The epidemic is certainly a challenge for distance foreign language teaching, but it is also an important opportunity for the development of the distance learning model. Only by transferring the entire information flow channel between teachers and students to the network environment can the value of the network in teaching work be truly discovered. In actual work, it is necessary to objectively analyze the status of distance learning work, implement related issues, identify shortcomings, and ultimately realize the growth of the distance foreign language teaching system.
