Abstract:
In this paper, we will present an effective model for managing accreditation process for college academic programs as a best practice model. Five departments with five academic engineering programs planed to get accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology ( ABET). Effective leadership for managing the project including setting objectives, planning, time management, and team work will be shown and illustrated.

The project consisted of 4 milestones and each has its own deliverables and outcomes. First phase was team forming and initial planning. In this phase the college dean and vice deans with the head of departments drew the lines for the college accreditation road map including time, resources, individuals, team forming, and plans. In the second milestone, the self steady reports for all five programs was completed by accreditation committees inside each department. A lot of educational sessions and training programs were conducted for the faculty and staff members to get them ready for change. Third milestone involved corrections and working with internal consultant to fulfill with all ABET Criteria and to get the college ready to have a final review visit. Finally, a review visit took place and all five programs were reviewed and evaluated.
