Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the description of a model for the morphological generation of word forms to fill in the morphological area of a machine-tractable lexicon (which will allow its further use in natural language processing applications within the word-and-paradigm approach) based on an additive model (within the framework of the item-and-arrangement approach). Detailed illustrations of how we handle verbal and adjectival morphology in Russian are given. In the course of the research Russian predicates have been divided into inflectional classes. The morphological paradigm typical of the words functioning as predicates within a restricted domain has been constructed. It has been found out that the set of paradigmatic forms correlates with the distinguihsed classes of predicates. Based on the corpus analysis of the morphological variants of the Russian predicates a model of the knowledge base and the algorithm for automating the process of the morphological generation for predicates has been constructed. The problematic cases not covered by the suggested model are highlighted. Keywords:
