Abstract:
The present development of auto industry requires highly skilled human resources, to ensure the technical condition of the auto fleet. The implementation of interactive learning method "simulated enterprise" can help the development of students' competencies to support their transition from school to active life, if particular knowledge and practical skills are not provided by their curriculum. In this way the future graduates will be able to use since their graduation, knowledge and practical skills that will provide a competitive advantage of organizations that will be part.
The demands of potential employers should be considered in establishing the competencies that must be developed within an automotive maintenance and repair simulated enterprise. Therefore, one of the main aims of this research is to identify the needs of employers regarding the competencies in several fields of automotive maintenance and repair. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in automotive services companies from two Romanian counties and the importance of the competencies needed in each of the considered departments of such companies has been established based on a statistical analysis.
The other aim is to correlate the activities within each analyzed field with the knowledge and skills to conduct these activities. Considering the importance of both activities and competencies needed in each field, specific knowledge map for each of the considered field have been developed.
