Abstract:
The scope of this paper refers to the interdisciplinary research and design activities in the field of architecture and design. Interior space design and elements of its furnishings, despite of specific function, rarely refers to the specific characteristics of special environments, which are extreme age groups, such as young children in preschool as well as the early grades of elementary school.
Observation:
Interiors of kindergartens, schools, hospitals, children's playgrounds and rooms are subjected to a kind of standardization, seen from the perspective of the designer, his experience, habits and routine as well as ergonomic regulations and guidelines. At the same time the unsatisfactory level of space quality, its fittings, appliances and toys for children offered by the market in a specific age group is observed. Most of this offer is devoid of reflection, being an imitation of patterns and behaviors of adults. This leads to the annexation of childhood carried out permanently by toy manufacturers offering substitutes adulthood, paralyzing the imagination, the routing for consumption and selfish behavior.
Research – Design task:
The task was addressed to a group of students of interior design, people dealing with a problem with a relatively close prospect. Range of target analysis and solutions including spatial conditions and functional guidance were developed as well as models of designed space and pieces of equipment prototypes. The study has also looked to identify significant correlations between the space and the group of young users, as well as motivate the search for new forms of space and the evolution of creative skills. The new formal and spatial solutions are to develop imagination, stimulate social behavior and stimulate abstract thinking.
Thesis:
There are forms of space and objects corresponding to the needs and perception of children, stimulating their spiritual and intellectual progress, developing imagination and the inherent creativity of the young man. These new forms need to be explored, and so they need to be designed.
Conclusions:
Conducted research design and creative experiments contributed to the realization of the design projects of the fresh and unconventional assumptions, high-impact and far from the standard solutions. With new proposals and increasing awareness of student designers, a new quality of space and elements of its equipment has been established. A kind of system thinking within designed space was born and a catalog of new special forms has been developed during the design process in the field of young users space. Keywords:
Architectue, space, form, young users.
