Abstract:
The teaching plan based on the student as a learning model, and in accordance with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This experience required the reorganization of the curricula that is offer to the students. It is important to take into consideration matters such as: competence coordination, coordination and diversification of tasks by which the student will acquire competence and the design of strategies for continuous evaluation.
All these must be perfectly well planned, not only to have a coherent curriculum, but to take into consideration that the effort the student has to make through out the teaching period is homogenous, and that it does not exceed the number of hours of non attendance work established by the curricula.
In accordance with the frame work of the EHEA the Psychology Faculty of the University of the Basque Country (Universidad del País Vasco), has develop a full course for two consecutive academic years. In this experience the teaching teams of every course reached a consensus regarding competence, contents, work-activities and evaluation procedures. They also designed a diversity of the teaching modalities (Magister classes, seminars, work shops, class room practices and computer practices), and established a time schedule. Also, a virtual platform was deployed to assist with the teaching needs, providing easy access to different materials and for student continuous evaluation.
The goal of the present work is to present the results obtained thorough this experience, regarding student and teacher satisfaction, and to present the success and performance rates. These rates may be compared with rates from courses taught in the past.
