Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to recognize the effect of using Multimedia Hypertext towards students’ achievement in essay writing. A group of form four students from one of the secondary school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was selected as sample. The researcher conducted experimental study that based on one groups pre test and post test. The purposive sampling was used to study the effect of using Multimedia Hypertext towards students’ achievement in essay writing. The objective of this study is to examine the pre test and post test students’ achievement. The inferential study through t-test was used to test the hypothesis which was aimed at determining if there was any significant difference in students’ achievement. Based on the basic grades that was given by Malaysian Examination Board, the students’ achievement were graded as excellent, credit, good, average and minimum in ideas, language and structural level. After implementing Multimedia Hypertext, there was a significant difference towards students’ achievement.
