Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight into the complexity of the on-going process of quality assurance to ensure academic quality of the programs at an Australian off-shore campus in Malaysia which is being accountable to two sets of Quality Agencies, namely, Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA which will be replaced by Australian Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency TEQSA) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Over the years, accreditation process has become a requirement for public and private institutions as part of the qualification framework to ensure the delivery of agreed standards. This paper will first provide the accreditation framework within which our university is set up, followed by a brief description of accreditation process that we need to go through for the programs being offered. Measures taken to achieve high quality education in terms of content, delivery and assessment will be presented. This paper will conclude with discussion on possible issues and problems.
