Abstract:
The elimination of the technical drawing as a compulsory subject in the college, together with the complexity of the contents to be treated, the lack of time to impart them, the abstract of the task to be carried out and the lack of connection with reality, are some of the reasons that have motivated the incorporation of an activity that contextualizes concepts in the first course of Graphic Expression in Engineering.
To do this, a task based on project work has been incorporated which was related to the contents to be taught according to the curriculum of the subject.
That practice had to develop the elements explained within the graphic representation systems: Dihedral, Axonometric, contours lines and Normalization; and also it had to use ICTs: Autocad.
In addition, it had to be consistent with the level of graphic knowledge of the students, be attractive to them, be close to their reality and be of first level of difficulty in relation to the development of the different contents that they could do in the future.
For this, the students have made during the course the graphic representation of a real element, already designed, known and whose geometry was simple and based on basic spatial geometry. This project has been delivered at the end of the course and evaluated within the practical part of the subject.
The task has been evaluated with great satisfaction on the part of the students, observing a greater involvement of them during the course. In this article some of the results of the evaluation of the experience are shown. Keywords:
