THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING TECHNOLOGY ON STUDENTS’ CONFIDENCE IN MATHEMATICS

Abstract:
This study aimed to the determination of the relationship between using technology (GeoGebra software(GGS) in particular) and students’ confidence in mathematics. The quantitative method was used in this study. The sample of the research consists of 37 8th grade students( two classes) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the research, Students Confidence in Mathematics Scale (SCM) was used. This scale was drawn from TIMSS 2015 questionnaire and translated to Arabic, then conducted to students twice, before they use the GeoGebra Software and after using the GeoGebra Software. Frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, correlation analysis were applied through SPSS for data analysis. According to the SCM scale, the percentages of the students' confidence in mathematics have been changed. Besides, there is a significant impact of using GGS on enhancing students Confidence in mathematics.Keywords:
