Abstract:
The COVID 19 pandemic gave us a major lesson in terms of readiness to answer a critical situation. Most of the countries were found unprepared for digital management of on-line medical services. However information regarding the management of online medical services is scattered and the digital competencies of medical professionals are low. For medical professionals, there is an urgent need to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in order to develop new key competences, in particular, digital skills to work in the online environment. The present paper presents new approaches for online rehabilitation in the framework of the Erasmus + project entitled “Development of digital skills for online rehabilitation therapies” with the goal to spread knowledge and practical skills about online/remote patient rehabilitation. The project is based on collaboration between hospitals and Higher Education Institutes from Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania and aims to offer a solution to replace classical rehabilitation services with on line services, in particular through building a virtual medical environment that will function as a pilot application of the e-KINE course, integrating periods of work-based learning and opportunities to apply knowledge in practical workplace situations. By following the procedures within the virtual clinic we intend to teach rehabilitation professionals how to manage online-patient rehabilitation: diagnose (information from other professionals, stage, type); online evaluation (posture, ROM), identification and follow of correspondent procedures adapt the procedure to patients' specific needs (patient-centered approach); follow up. Innovation of e-KINE approaches is based on the fact that the virtual space will be developed to meet the current labor market needs in terms of services required for on line rehabilitation, aiming to offer complete and quality services and personalize patient care. The output is designed as independent from the e-learning platform to ensure access to protocols and tools outside of a fixed structure that can be effectively and flexibly used whenever needed and by different users.
