Abstract:
Deforestation, climate change, sea pollution and other causes involve the need to conserve natural heritage. Europe is facing an accelerated climate change as a result of global warming, mainly for human activities, and because of population departure and consequent abandon of rural areas. In this line, higher education is exploring new horizons.

There is a need to find ways to support the management of such hazards by providing adequate training on environmental matters. One academic proposal for understanding and training appropriate personnel in order to mitigate threats to the environment is higher education, so in this way, authors proposed Master Programmes related to environmental subjects. A strong point of these programmes is to prepare students for regional and global postgraduate job market. This paper is intended to explain and analyse the stages in the preparation of documentation and also the project management of an e-learning Master programme under lifelong learning framework (Erasmus Programme), including teaching strategies, such as a Virtual Learning Platform containing learning materials in digital format including text, audio/video-material and images and video-material, tester workshops organized in participating countries, future interaction with the student, etc. The manuscript is intended to be an aid to future teachers/professors to detect a lack of training in their own area regarding environmental issues.
