Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic and related emergency measures to limit the spread of the virus in lots of countries, among them Bulgaria, have led to suspensions of all present forms of education in schools for some time, including for the youngest students. Primary teachers faced serious challenges in dealing with distance learning with the small boys and girls.

The article examines the challenges faced by the teacher in the primary stage conducting distance learning in an electronic environment. The emphasis is on the problems, related to the organization and resource provision of the learning process in an electronic environment in the context of the particularities of young students, distress and professional “burnout” of pedagogical specialists, teaching at the primary stage.

Attention is also paid to the importance of pedagogical interaction both for the optimal course of the learning process and for development on the personality of adolescents and its deficits in conducting distance learning in an electronic environment.

The conclusions in the report are made on the basis of a survey conducting among the Bulgarian teachers in primary stage and a comparative analysis with the problems of e-learning for teachers in other EU member states.
