Abstract:
In the modern world, for innovative development of technological university, it is necessary to organize the research work of the teaching staff correctly. It is this field of activity that will be the basis for the formation of human capital and will develop the Russian economy in the future. For this, any university, especially a technological one, must actively use its scientific schools, but with the involvement of innovative technologies and innovative research methods, as well as the most up-to-date equipment, and also take into account its previous experience.

In order to motivate university teachers to do research projects successfully, university management should provide state financing for these projects, contract with industrial companies, increase the number of teachers participating in various grant programs, and increase the academic mobility of teaching staff. Today, the teachers of any research university have to combine both scientific work and teaching, which is their main workload, they have to take part in scientific conferences, be published in scientific journals, write monographs, review scientific works, and so on. The more actively the teacher works in the above mentioned areas, the more significant the recognition of his research work by the global scientific community will be. It is the teacher`s qualification assessment.

However, the team research work in the university is being reduced. It is due to the implementing of a rating system that takes into account individual and department indicators as well as the participation author rates in publications.

For the successful development of research work in the university team, it is necessary to create an environment for proper and correct competition, since competitive procedures and a rating system for assessing the indicators of teachers scientific activity sometimes cause their resistance to carry out a number of indicators. Although, according to surveys conducted in the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU), scientific research is regarded as the basis for high-quality teaching and the effective organization of teachers own research, research work of undergraduate and post-students, which helps to increase teachers personal status and the formation of a positive image of the university as a whole.

Thus, the study of the theoretical aspects of the organization of research work and the experience of KNRTU how to develop the scientific work in the status of a national research university, as well as identifying opportunities for enhancing the research work of university teachers is relevant.

The objective of the work is to generalize the theoretical analysis and practical experience of organizing the scientific work of teachers. And also to summarize the results of research work in the teaching of foreign languages in KNRTU.

To achieve this aim, the following tasks have been solved: revealing the features of research work in the technological university; identifying of teachers motivation problems; analysis of scientific research work and rating system of KNRTU; presenting the results of the research work of an English teacher.

The scientific novelty of the work is to systematize the theoretical and practical experience of scientific research work.
