Abstract:
This practioner-focused presentation will share essential tools and resources to “upgrade” your content courses. These tools call be used in a variety of ways to allow for learning to occur beyond the classroom walls. All the tools shared will be free on-line resources that have been found to be useful in methods courses. These tools can be easily embedded in science and methods courses for both elementary and secondary education majors. These tools can be implemented in face-to-face, blended and flipped classroom models. These educational tools are great examples for faculty to use across learning environments. Some of the tools that will be shared are: EDpuzzle, Edutopia, Kahoot, Twitter, Google Docs, TED-ed, certain augmented reality apps will also be showcased. The presenter will bring a set of 8-10 iPads to share the tools while giving the presentation.
