Abstract:
Data visualization is an effective tool for transforming complex information into understandable visual formats such as charts, maps, and diagrams. Its application in education enables the acquisition of clear and precise information about students' academic performance, allowing trends, areas for improvement and educational needs to be identified. Thus, this study applies data visualization to enhance the understanding and analysis of academic performance in Ergonomics, a course within the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development (School of Design Engineering, Polytechnic University of Valencia) specifically in the areas of anthropometry and anthropometric design. The methodology involves collecting academic data from students, which includes course completion percentages, practice comparisons, and unit-specific knowledge levels. These data points are then visually represented through various methods evaluated for clarity and student engagement. The potential results could prove useful in enhancing students' awareness of their academic standing and identifying areas that require improvement. The conclusions of the study may help determine whether effective data visualization substantially aids in monitoring and improving student performance. Future research will focus on refining these visualization techniques based on student feedback and observed improvements in academic outcomes.
