Abstract:
This presentation intends to provide a code of good conduct in research as well as raise awareness in universities and research promoting entities of those aspects to be born in mind, in order to achieve a work environment in which transparency and professionalism prevail in the interest of the impact and internationalisation of the results obtained.

General principles and demands applicable to researchers (adapted from European Commission, 2005) are: Freedom of research; Ethical practices and fundamental principles; Professional responsibility. Work that is relevant for society. No duplication of other previous research. Avoidance of any type of plagiarism Professional attitude with knowledge of financing mechanisms that govern its scope of activity. Good research practices ane Safe work practices. Knowledge of the legal demands in matters of data and confidentiality protection.

In this presentation we must depart from some fundamental principles of integrity that guide researchers in their commitment with ethical and intellectual aspects intrinsic to research.

These principles are: Reliability, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
- Reliability, to guarantee the quality of research, which is reflected in the design, methodology, analysis and use of resources.
- Honesty, at the time of developing, carrying out, reviewing and disseminating research in a transparent, complete and impartial manner.
- Respect, towards research participants, society, the environment and the cultural heritage.
- Responsibility, towards research, publication, management and organisation as well as in training, oversight and mentoring.

In addition, there are other unacceptable actions,
such as:
- Maliciously accusing an investigator of misconduct.
- Supporting publications that do not comply with the research quality control process.
- Translating someone else's work and presenting it as one’s own.
- Collusion. Unauthorised collaboration of persons in carrying out the investigation.
- Impersonation. Buying and selling of academic work.

It should be stressed at this point that publications are the result of research, the impact of which affects society at large. It is therefore the authors' responsibility to ensure that publications are honest, accurate and complete in order to consolidate the researcher’s prestige in the first place, to promote science and to strengthen the prestige of the institution to which they belong. In order to avoid malpractice in the publication of scientific works, it welcomes the convenience of providing a decalogue of good practices in publications.
