Abstract:
The present research aims to analyze the impact of blended classrooms and the use of the Moodle platform on the listening skill in a class of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in a university of Cuenca. The need for this study arises due to the continuous development of technology and its influence in the students learning process. Nowadays teachers increasingly use technological tools in their classrooms, blending them with the traditional face- to- face teaching. Therefore, the importance to analyze its impact on an EFL class is essential to remain updated with today’s world and the need to enhance students’ autonomous work to promote independent learning. Basic installation of Moodle and its major functions will be presented in the paper, followed by the features and materials used for the listening instruction. Finally the article will conclude with the results measuring the impact of using the platform in the listening skill. The number of participants (N) will be 29 A1 (Common European Framework) students pursuing an Early Education Childhood major.
