If the teaching subject is based on on-line education, it is possible that many factors which influence the students’ motivation would be neglected or ommited. It is very important to percieve different needs of e-learners and ways of motivating them by adequate communication. The most common mistakes in communication with e-students are summoned in this paper, and also some possible ways for improving the quality of communication and stimulating students’ motivation.

Interactive on-line education has different starting point than classical educational forms. It stats from the presumption that different lecturers give advantage to different teaching styles, that different concepts demand different media and methods of communication, and also that different students have different cognitive styles. However, the fact that technology provides different ways of communication does not mean that “alive” lecturer is not the managing force in the teaching process. The one who teaches decides about the content of his/her course and strategy and he is the most spontaneous and precious factor in students’ process of gaining knowledge.

Experiences in the usage of on-line system for education show that pitfalls in communication with the lecturer/mentor are among the most common reason for dissatisfaction of candidates. This makes it perfectly clear why communication and its importance for on-line education is mentioned in our work.
