Abstract:
Two years after having developed a card to be used to catalog and upload the educational resources that feed Didactalia.net (IATED, 2004), a K-12 global community and a storage place for teachers, students and parents to create, share and find open educational resources, I decided to launch a special contest to enhance the learning processes of students from the third year of Primary Education Degree of the University of Deusto (Spain). At that moment, my main intention was to implement a new way of learning by doing, while students were designing educational resources that they could use in their near future as teachers of Primary Education.
In its second edition, the contest had a clear objective: to create an educational resource linked to topics related to Social Sciences areas and to present it through a research poster, previously adapted to the subject Social Sciences and its Didactics I (a compulsory subject for Primary Education Degree students). The students also had to sell their resources to the audience.
During the first semester of this academic year 2014-2015, students worked in teams of 4 to 6 students and, among others, they developed 12 rich and varied educational resources: glogsters, videos, radio shows, webquests, posters, calendars of feelings, tales and so on. All the resources were developed based on the pedagogical features card designed in the previously mentioned project. Furthermore, the students designed a google site where they uploaded the 12 educational resources produced for the contest.
In this paper, I will describe the contest I produced for this project, I will analyse in depth the resources created by the students and I will explain the final decision taken in the contest. Finally, I will discuss about the competencies the students have developed thank to this project. Keywords:
