Abstract:
Amets Ekiten (Starting-up Dreams) is a program based on the idea that to become an entrepreneur kid is possible. Encouraged by the founders of Iniciador (Starter) Foundation and the director of Iniciador Kids, inspired by different entrepreneurs, motivated by some parents and supported by the Faculty of Psychology and Education and Deusto Entrepreneurship Centre of the University of Deusto (Bilbao-Spain), Amets Ekiten is an entrepreneurial program that will be launched next july 2014 in Bilbao-Spain for children aged from 8 to 12. Moreover, this program will take place thanks to the collaboration of altruistic and generous entrepreneurs, teachers, professionals from public and private schools and institutions, and enterprises from the Basque Country.
Among the main goal of Amets Ekiten it is worth to be mentioned the following ones: to make dreams come true, to develop or reinforce some key competences –creativity, team work, communication skills, project planning- while children enjoy and have fun and to design and develop new ideas and projects focus on problem solving while challenging children.
In order to reach those goals, some workshops and activities focus on entrepreneurship and serious leisure will be put into practice. The methodology that will be carried out will be based on the problem based learning and design thinking principles. Finally, during the 10 days in which the program will be held, there will also take place a couple of conferences and round tables. That way, the future entrepreneur kids will have the chance of interacting and exchanging their dreams and ideas, and the way others have reached their dreams. Keywords:
