Abstract:
A portfolio is the reflection of the student's learning process, in which all the information, contents, skills and competences acquired during each activity and experience carried out by the student are collected. It is displayed in a document, containing the effort, progress, advancement, and achievements. If this portfolio is in digital format it is denominated electronic portfolio (e-Portfolio). On the other hand, the elaboration and defense of the Bachelor´s Degree Final Project (TFG) is carried out mandatorily in the final phase of the degree studies and must allow obtaining the transversal competences associated with the Bachelor´s Degree.
A collaborative group of professors have been worked on and implemented a Mentorship Program or Tutorial Action Plan (PAT), called “Get prepared for the Bachelor´s Degree Final Project” (http://farmacia.ugr.es/preparatfg), at the University of Granada along 2014-2018 academic courses. Main objective was to offer to university student’s specific training for acquiring skills and abilities needed for the proper and effective development of their TFG.
It has been designed and developed a digital platform "e-Portfolio in the TFG" for the management of personal learning process and training activities followed by each participant preparing TFG. In addition, it allows the management of their own registration and/or deregistration for different PAT activities, as well as generating an electronic file (e-Portfolio) with full information, contents and competences acquired during the activities carried out during the TFG training. On the other hand, the "e-Portfolio in the TFG" allowed teachers-tutors being communicated and received students feedback and needs. They could offer different training activities, manage the registration of university students in the TFG, as well as in the different activities offered and facilitate the management of the generation of certificates of participation in the PAT, allowing the issuance of the same individually, including the personal identification of each participant, as well as the activities attended, name and duration of the same.
Successful results during the implementation of the digital platform have been obtained. It has had an excellent acceptance among university students, more than 75% of the student do use of it to consult information about the PAT and the proposed training activities; the information provided in that platform has been considered useful or very useful by more than 85% of students. In addition, more than 90% used it to get enrolled in the PAT and managed their registration and deregistration in training activities; more than 80% considered satisfactorily assessed the usefulness of the digital platform and more than 70% of the university students evaluated satisfactorily assessed its usability. On the other hand, more than 75% considered very interesting the possibility of downloading their customized e-Portfolio, through the digital platform. The teacher-tutors also highly appreciated the implementation of the digital platform, 100% indicated that the tool facilitated management of training activities offers, management of inscriptions in training activities and the issuance of certificates of participation.
For all these reasons, we consider that the digital platform "e-Portfolio in the TFG" is a very useful tool for management of training activities carried out by the university students, in their training plan for the TFG.Keywords:
