Abstract:
Games for innovative global citizenship education for the Sustainable Development Goals, or Games for Goals (GFG), is a project financed by Erasmus+ under contract n.º 2022 – 1 - FR01 - KA220 – SCH - 000089401. The project was implemented by a consortium of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and Higher Education Institutions (HEI) from 5 European countries, led by the Le Partenariat. It addresses school education and aims to support teachers, school leaders and other teaching professionals with the elaboration of innovative educational activities in global citizenship & sustainable development (GC&SD). It will achieve this aim, essentially by developing three games, and the associated teacher’s handbook, on the sustainable development goals (SDG).

The games are to be developed with the support of higher education students, from the participating HEI, in a series of three week-long physical mobilities. In such mobilities, students will learn on the topics to be developed though a set of seminars and workshops. After, they will be working collaboratively, supervised by mentors/specialists from the participating organizations. The mobilities are an essential element of the game development and of the entire project. Even though the partners involved already have substantial experience with implementation of mobilities of students and staff, in this project a different approach was conducted. Multidisciplinary collaboration was the pivotal element in the entire process. Being a different approach, alternatives were implemented, and different solutions were tested.

This paper intends to describe the alternative approaches experienced in the facilitation of the mobilities. It also intends to present the results obtained with the evaluation performed during the mobilities. Evidence presented will show that the alternative approaches used were satisfactory. It will also be demonstrated that the changes incorporated between the first and the second mobility produced a better output.
