Abstract:
Introduction:
The turn of the twentieth century was marked by another round of the civilizational process - the actively ongoing economic and political globalization entered the stage of linguistic and cultural globalization and moved to the next stage - globalization of knowledge. The world scientific community has realized that the humanity faces pressing problems whose solution requires joint efforts and close international cooperation in the field of education and science. The European Union provides enormous opportunities for this in the form of various scientific funds, one of which is the Marie Skłodowska-Curie RISE Foundation.
Objectives:
Summarizing our research work within the framework of the European Seventh Framework Program (FP7 SEVENTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAM) and Horizon 2020, we would like to emphasize that in addition to the specific tasks facing each planned study, they all serve to develop teamwork skills within international consortia and the development of scientific potential of youth, since the composition of each national university implies a certain ratio of experienced and novice research scientists (doctoral and postdoctoral studies).
Methods:
Observation, description, systematization of archival data, analysis of researched facts. Method of narrative and discourse analysis, generalization of data in a comparative historical aspect.
In 2017-21 an international consortium of representatives from 12 countries under the leadership of Professor Karl Kaser (University of Graz, Austria) studied Knowledge Exchange and Academic Cultures in the Humanities: Europe and the Black Sea Region, late 18th – 21st Centuries (Horizon 2020 EU, Grant Agreement No. 734645 ). A team of scientists from Batumi State University made a feasible contribution to the development of the following areas:
1) the development of academic culture and the emergence of the first schools and universities in Adjara;
2) the role of women in the development of science and education;
3) development of interdisciplinary research (ethnolinguistic, linguocultural, sociolinguistic) within the framework of the anthropocentric scientific paradigm;
4) the formation of visual anthropology in Georgia;
5) the role of language in the formation of the national and scientific picture of the world;
6) the role of translation in the development of science and in the process of knowledge exchange.
The data obtained were published in journals and monographs, tested at international conferences, presented for defense in the form of doctoral dissertations, formed the basis for online exhibitions and, most importantly, joint work with colleagues from Austria, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, etc. countries allowed to improve the quality of education and exchange experience in developing the scientific potential of beginning scientists. The project is completed, but joint research continues.
Conclusions:
The data obtained indicate the enormous role of such research consortiums which regulate the dissemination of scientific knowledge in the global community; institutions, member of the consortium, have to employ specific strategies to efficiently disseminate in their local communities and ensure students’ involvement in extensive research, this all achieved through the exchange of experience and cooperation with the management in the project planning and implementation.Keywords:
