DESIGN OF AUDIOVISUAL MATERIAL FOR A DISTANCE TEACHING METHODOLOGY IN THE FIELD OF GRAPHIC DESIGN AND TYPOGRAPHY

Abstract:
The present document focused on the adaptation of the subject Graphic Design and Communication, of the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Design and Product Development of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) to online and hybrid teaching due to the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The virus has caused an exceptional situation around the world. In Spain, the Government decreed the state of alarm on 14th march 2020. In this paradigm, both the UPV as an institution, as well as the teaching staff, adapted its strategies and methodologies to 100% online teaching during the second wave, and to hybrid teaching after the state of alarm.
In this paper there are presented and compared the teaching guides of the course 2019-2020 and the course 2020-2021 of the subject Graphic Design and Communication, taught throughout the first semester at 3rd year students. The topics analyzed for each year are type of teaching, syllabus, teaching material delivered to the student, monitoring of students and evaluation. It is highlighted the new teaching formats and new platforms used by teachers, as well as the content design, that has turned towards purely audiovisual content.Keywords:
