Abstract:
Within the framework of the cross-border project STOP BULLYING-NO BULLYING (HU-SK Interreg V-A Slovakia Hungary Cross Border Cooperation Programme), we conducted a comprehensive questionnaire survey among parents of 6 Hungarian primary schools participating in the project on the topic of bullying. The primary aim of the questionnaire survey was to assess the parents' perception of the current bullying situation in their children's school and to develop a suitable training and mentoring process to provide support. Due to the heightened pandemic situation in Slovakia, school closures have taken place and the upper level in the secondary schools has switched to an online education format. Now that the pandemic situation is evolving, online education is more prevalent, and children are spending more time in the online space. This situation has given rise to new forms of online bullying that parents are less familiar with. In our article we report on the evaluation of the part of our questionnaire that mainly sought to find out how parents are aware of the different forms of online bullying and how serious they consider them to be. We also assessed the extent to which parents believe that this form of bullying is present in their schools and what solutions they know to prevent online bullying. We are writing about the training and mentoring process as well. Ensuring adequate online security is an increasingly pressing issue, both in schools and at home. We also look at online safety issues and possible solutions in this article.
