Abstract:
Providing students with educational content that is based on augmented reality (AR) is a novel approach to stimulating their interest in learning. This is because it is expected that the AR learning material would be able to facilitate students in visualizing a complex structure, especially in STEM education. As AR is implemented in educational contexts, it is essential to look from the perspective of the educators too. Thus, this study presents the perceptions of the educators in utilizing AR for STEM education. In this quantitative study, a total of 30 STEM educator respondents were given their perceptions of the utilization of AR in learning by answering a set of questionnaires. These perceptions are based on several variables which are, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceives enjoyment, attitude towards its use, and intention of use. Overall, the results show that majority of STEM educators agree with the utilization of AR in STEM education. Besides that, in terms of the intention of use, 87% of the respondents voted their intention to use AR to teach their students. This indicates that the utilization of AR applications is relevant from the perspective of STEM educators themselves. Hence, it is hoped that this study will benefit future studies to support the relevance of applying AR in STEM education. Keywords:
