Abstract:
Data collection and compilation of statistics to show the location of women in Spanish universities is essential to make a real diagnosis of what is the position of women in the university education system and research in Spain.
In 2010 a study gender unprecedented which displays the position of women in the University of Granada. This study confirmed the existence of a gender gap in this university.
This paper presents the results of a second study of gender made in 2012 and shows the evolution of the representation of women in the past two years.
The study was conducted for the different estates: students, teaching staff, administration and services staff. This study was carried out separately by categories of teaching staff (and administrative and service staff), branches of knowledge and age, and includes a study of the distribution by gender of senior positions at the university.
The results of this study show that there remains a wide disparity in the highest categories of both faculty and administrative staff and services, especially in positions of responsibility.
