Abstract:
In the process of creating an architecture design in an academic environment these days, students are contaminated by several features and tools in both a physical and virtual environment.

Architecture schools in Brazil are adapting the technological laboratories where computer graphics are increasingly approaching the studio with a view that experimentation in architectural research is important in teaching as a reflective educator says Donald Schön.

The research aims to investigate the connection between the virtual and tangible through the production of physical components with system Rapid Prototyping (RP) generated by CNC Roland and the printing system in 3D with use of 3DPrinter. Virtual models are generated by the program Autodesk Revit BIM.

As projective, this research will analyze the Gerassi House (1990), Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes a Rocha, strategically chosen to be created with the building system in precast concrete, being relevant to the objectives of this research because it allows reflection, understanding the components identified in the project's architect, as well as modeling components.

In the manufacture of components there will be analyzed the repertoire of materials and their limits while establishing quality and precision in thickness, scale and proportion applied in CNC and 3DPrinter. The ability to simulate opaque materials, translucent and transparent fencing inherent in architectural facades where the hybrid plays an important role in research projective in the production of components made manually and the (RP) methods. In the book "Artifice" (2009) Richard Sennett, appreciates the approach of manual labor as a means of reflection and self-knowledge, actions important in the creative process.

The research aims to present an overview of the preparation process of the 3D virtual model and methodology for fabrication of components by CNC and 3DPrinter produced by various materials and identify their limits of accuracy, thereby facilitating the architecture student in choosing and decision making in the use of the (RP) system and materials used in the process of architectural production.
