Abstract:
The methodological basis for the development of education in Russia nowadays is an official governmental document “National Education Doctrine”. This document governs main streams in the development of education in Russia. One of the main ideas of this document is correlated with ideas of high competitive ability of Russia at the world level in all spheres of industry, economy, culture, including higher education. This target of higher education can not be achieved without the idea of the individual route while acquiring necessary competencies in search for the future career.
The team of scholars of Bashkir State pedagogical university is working at the problem of creation such a model of higher education at the pedagogical university that could provide the facilities for choosing the individual route for the acquisition of universal and professionally peculiar competencies with students for them to work in the future not only in the rigid field of professional interest but also in other spheres of professional activities. On the way to achieve this target the elaborators of the investigated project faced up to a lot of challenges. The main challenge is a conservative way of educators’ thinking. It is not easy for teachers to adapt themselves to quite a new paradigm of education which presupposes the assessment of competences. The competences in their turn are supposed to be acquired not only in class (which is a present day system) but mostly by self work and distance work. Self work and distance work demand in their turn high level of education technology especially in the sphere of e-learning, which is only in the cradle state in most universities in Russia. The next challenge is the friction between those who stick to the old system of teaching only knowledge (we call it an academic approach) and those who stick to the competence system. But even in this case there is great discrepancy in understanding of what is a competence, how to teach it and how to assess. In order to cope with some challenges the elaborators have chosen the work at the formation of a system of universal and professional competencies.
The presentation deals with the analysis of different levels, periods and individual routes of knowledge and competence acquisition while studying at the University, educating materials used while teaching and learning and corresponding models of individual routes elaborated for students during academic education and experience extension practices correlated with the targeted competencies.
