Abstract:
This research was conducted to remark the need for knowledge and training required for teachers in a Mexican institution of higher education in the use, integration and teaching of Information Technologies and Communication Technologies (ICT). To accomplish this, we conducted a study of mixed type to identify the needs of training and support needed by teachers in the area of ICT for education. The process of data collection instruments were: the questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, which were applied to three groups of teachers who formed the sample selected for this study. The research questions were: what are the Knowledge needs for teachers in ICT ? What kind of support requires the teacher in the use and application of ICT?.
In general, this study identified the needs and support that teachers require integrate ICT in their work and also made clear the need to establish, measures and criteria to guide the formation in use and application of technological tools.
