Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to describe a new agile methodology for collaborative online learning, Scrumban. This is a technique that combines two common agile strategies: Scrum and Kanban.
In order to be able to develop collaborative learning, the working group needs to be clear on a common objective. In addition, the main attitudes to face the work are: commitment, transparency, perseverance, respect and predisposition to consensus. Each member in the team is a key piece with her/his individual work. Therefore, it is important the organisation and planning distribution of roles and tasks, internal rules and initial agreements. In addition, proactive, participatory, civic and efficient communication is essential throughout the process. With all this, and the constant review of the whole process, will lead to the collaborative construction of the knowledge.
To transfer this successfully to the online environment it is possible to use agile methodologies which have digital tools, such as Scrumban. The process follows four fundamental steps:
1. Create a Scrumban board with the stages of the team's workflow.
2. Set the boundaries for the stage of work in progress. Teams working with Scrumban decide as a group how many tasks there can be and in which stage. A key benefit of Scrumban is the possibility to plan and change the workflow at any time during the process.
3. Work with the team to prioritise tasks.
4. Organises regular update meetings that help the whole team understand what is being worked on.
In conclusion, this technique facilitates collaborative online learning as it allows time to be organised and time-saving, is well suited to projects that need to be carried out in a subject throughout the course and allows team members to have more autonomy. Keywords:
