Abstract:
Therapeutic decision has a particularly important role in the formative aspects of the future dental practitioner. Partial dentures are a complex clinical entity with a profound impact on the patient's general condition and social integration. The therapeutic decision in the rehabilitation of partial edentulousness is made on the basis of the clinical and paraclinical evaluation of choice, with special attention being paid to the clinical-biological indices and the individualization of the therapeutic principles: biological, biomechanical, aesthetic and ergonomic.

The aim of this study is to individualize the methods of choice in the formative plan, in the elaboration of an individualized diagnosis and a clinical-technological algorithm adapted to the clinical particularities. Contemporary dental practice confronts the future practitioner with both classical and digital therapeutic methods so that through the training acquired in the years of university can have an optimal insertion on the labor market. Digital techniques from simulation aspects to digital wax-up design, from digital model analysis to CAD-CAM systems for prosthetic constructions represent a dominant part of a competitive professional activity.

Another classic technique for previewing the final solution besides direct and indirect mock-up is wax-up. Diagnostic wax-up is the rebuilding of dental arches from wax on study models by the dental technician, following the collection of information at the clinical examination, the patient's suggestion on the aesthetic level. This representation in wax is a valuable tool for restoring any smile and can be subsequently modified, if necessary, then finalized with the aim of achieving the respective restoration.

We live in a digital age, where things evolve from one day to the next with great speed, and this is also seen in today's modern dentistry, which incorporates new technologies to ensure treatments to very high-quality standards. Among the many challenges facing dental practitioners is the achievement of high-quality restorations in a short space of time.

The use of methods influenced by technological developments in complex oral rehabilitation of a partially edentulous patient allows the restoration of many aspects of both morphology and functionality, with restoration of the function of the stomatognathic system being a primary goal established at the start of prosthetic treatment.

The correlation of biomaterials with the technological line addressed, anchored in the metallic or non-metallic register and with the particularities of each individual clinical case is a sine qua non for a holistic vision in the dental medical field.
