Abstract:
Teaching computer science is important for everyone, as it is almost impossible to succeed in everyday life without some knowledge of computer skills. Therefore, teaching computer science can be a huge advantage for students in terms of job placement. However, computer science is considered a young field compared to other subjects, and as a result, some research questions the proper teaching of the subject as its own field of study. Proper education in computer science is important for students in the 21st century, as the alpha generation was born into this fast-paced digital world. Our study examines common questions that arise in computer science education. We focus on the methodology of computer science education and seek to answer the question of how to achieve effective learning using various traditional and modern educational forms such as project-based, collaborative, interactive, and problem-based learning methods. Additionally, by reviewing literature, we examine the guidelines for delivering knowledge, seeking answers to questions such as what design processes and lesson types should be used to achieve actual knowledge. Lastly, we focus on the necessity of computer science education and ask the question of what computer skills are needed for whom. In addition to examining the thought processes explored in the literature, we provide suggestions for different levels of computer science education depending on the individual's goals.
