Abstract:
The world’s population is affected very differently by the globalization in which we are immersed. These differences can be seen in all aspects: technological, educational, health, social, etc.

The field in question, Audiology, is not different from the rest and the new diagnostic and assessment methods are not available to everyone. These new techniques, highly sophisticated and expensive, have displaced some other tests that used to provide very valuable information, but now have fallen virtually into disuse in the most advanced societies.

In this paper, we bring to those communities where primary care is difficult the access to a valuable tool, the acoumetrie. The acoumetrie is useful to assess individuals suspected of having some kind of hearing problem. This paper offers to professionals not directly related to audiology the opportunity to become familiar with the required knowledge to perform the tests and evaluate the results obtained. Other health professionals, and even education professionals, can apply this knowledge and then, if possible, refer it to the audiology specialist for further study and diagnosis.
