Abstract:
The road to European university convergence has led to a higher education structure based on common systems. Based on the study guides developed for the first year subjects of the Degree in Optics and Optometry, those related to the Health Sciences area, "Biology", " Human Anatomy and the visual system" and "Physiology of the human visual system", were analyzed. In order to implement a coordinated and integrated teaching, criteria for the unification of objectives and contents were established, intending to avoid duplication and to identify gaps in topics of interest for the integral student’s formation. Likewise, the respective didactic methodologies were compared and analyzed in order to assess which ones render better results and favour the teaching-learning process. The importance of a well-designed and structured continuous assessment along the course is highlighted, so as to give the student an opportunity to conduct a rational and integrative study between the mentioned subjects that will enable a greater academic achievement. Keywords:
