Abstract:
The present study deals with the statistical analysis of the performance of the students of the International Hellenic University of Greece in the course "Databases", on a 19-year data set (from 2003 to 2021), using the tools provided by the Orange Data Mining software. This data set consists of 6600 data records and 30 characteristics. We focused on seven characteristics. They represent demographic characteristics and student grades. Specifically, we examined trends and patterns by gender, enrolment period, different study programmes, type of home schooling and performance by gender, using student grades in the above course. Orange Data Mining software tools helped us to easily transform and clean the data, group it and present the results online. Descriptive statistics features are built into Orange Data Mining software to produce statistical reports and analysis. Low code software tools can greatly increase efficiency in producing statistics and analytics, enabling organizations to derive insights from their data more quickly and effectively.
