Abstract:
Where there is a true partnership between school, family and community, their teachers use new ways of leading children toward high school standards; parents regularly discussed with educators about their children's behavior and how can help them at home and school; children learn to reach new standards of disciplines taught in agreement with the community’s demands. Each school becomes a "community of learners”, in terms of its own plan of improving the educational process. The schools and the community improve the training, are encouraged by professional development of teachers and parents and business people involvement, so that every aspect of education work as part of a system that supports children to achieve success through school.
Educators serve one of the most important roles in society, and they can, and must, make a difference; make a difference in communities, make a difference in schools, make a difference in children and adolescents. The mission of the school is to support and advance the quality of education and human services for the continuing development of children, youth and adults. And it accomplishes this mission through our teaching, research, program development, and partnership activities.
Specifically, the school addresses the most challenging issues facing education today, including:
• Recruiting, preparing, and retaining a new generation of highly qualified teachers, especially
in urban and urbanizing schools and in content areas of greatest need;
• Building school leadership capacity in an era of heightened accountability;
• Helping children with special needs reach their full potential;
• Developing research-based curricula focused on school improvement and enhanced student
achievement;
• Building a climate of evidence-based practice in educational planning and decision making;
• Addressing the social and emotional needs of children and families.
