Abstract:
The article reveals ways to increase the motivation of university students to learn a foreign language using interactive technologies.
The purpose of the study is to identify and experimentally test the effectiveness of the use of interactive technologies for the development of motivation for learning a foreign language among university students.
The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that modern society is developing the latest information technologies, improving the methods of teaching, educating and developing students, which entails the need to strengthen motivation of students' education. Under these conditions, the activation of teaching methods based on the use of new tools and technologies is of particular importance.
In the process of the research the following methods were used: pedagogical experiment, pedagogical observation, testing, quantitative method, statistical method, questioning.
The article discusses the benefits of using such interactive technologies as electronic textbooks ("English in the service sector" and "German for economists"), computer language programs (e-learning program "Talk to me" and multimedia reference book-simulator "Professor Higgins"), electronic educational resources (“English for Geographers (Physical Geography), “Land engineering and water management”).
During the study, it was found that interactive technologies are based on the communicative and activity approach and correspond to the didactic principles of the pedagogical process: consistency, connection of theory and practice, activity, visibility, accessibility, and the strength of mastering knowledge. Multimedia technologies have turned educational visibility from static to dynamic, made it possible to simulate processes that develop over time, and interactively change the parameters of these processes. Only multimedia tools are able to solve many educational problems due to the fact that a demonstration of the phenomena studied cannot be carried out in the classroom.
Digital electronic resources provide high efficiency of the educational process through informative value of the presented material, communicative nature, facility and simplicity of navigation, lexical-grammatical testing, feedback.
Interactive technologies contribute to increasing the motivation to learn a foreign language and also provide ample opportunities for the development of all types of speech activity in the process of fulfilling communication tasks selected by compilers taking into account the specifics of student learning. In addition, multimedia resources help students overcome difficulties in learning, show them the possibility of using information and communication technologies for self-education in the process of independent work, including research activities. All these factors allow students to become competitive professionals. Keywords:
