Abstract:
Introduction:
Students in the Medicine Degree program must acquire, in addition to knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them as competent professionals. However, when students participate in clinical practices, they often complain about the lack of time dedicated to clinical learning and the limited physical contact with patients.

Objective:
To implement a novel system of virtual clinical practices using video streaming, aimed at promoting good clinical practices and humanism in Endocrinology and Nutrition II from the Medicine Degree program at the University of Valencia.

Methodology:
The objectives of this pilot program are to improve skills and competencies in:
1. Communication with patients, particularly in learning and enhancing students' ability to empathize with patients;
2. Neurovascular examination of the foot for primary prevention of diabetic foot;
3. Therapeutic education applied in diabetes; and
4. Interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring records.

The project includes 4 video-streaming sessions of 10 minutes each. Each video replicates real-life situations in the medical consultation and includes explanatory notes on the most relevant aspects to consider. The contents will be available on the Virtual Classroom of the University of Valencia for at least 1 month, to be viewed outside of class hours by 5th-year students from the Group AI (English) of Endocrinology and Nutrition II, in the Medicine Degree program at the University of Valencia. Subsequently, online tutoring sessions will be held on demand to discuss the contents and evaluate the implementation of this tool in the practical training of the students. Finally, a survey will be conducted to assess the project among students (18 questions, Likert scale) and teaching staff.

Summary and Project Applicability:
This teaching innovation project aims to expand the acquisition of certain skills and competencies of undergraduate students, both in communication and in advanced exploration and analysis techniques in the subject of Endocrinology and Nutrition II. As it is a pilot project, it will be initially carried out during the clinical practices in our Department, to subsequently implement it in the future in other Departments/Sections of Endocrinology and Nutrition that provide teaching in the remaining university hospitals.
