Abstract:
The project "Learn to entrepreneur" is a project that has been developing the Local Economic and Social Development Agency of Alicante from the year 2009. The project arises with objective to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among young people of the educational levels of secondary and vocational training.
The project was created before the changes and transformations that affect the incorporation of young people into the labour market in this new century. Work and training organizations are revolutionized by the implementation of new technologies and new information systems that are making obsolete the traditional productive and educational models of industrial economies.
All these changes, which are affecting the family, and society as a whole have to apply for restructuring in traditional systems of teaching and learning, which respond to the needs of the new social models, and ultimately contribute to the formation of citizens to develop their personality and their skills, and who know how to behave and integrate into a society that changes constantly.
This explains the reason of the creation by the Local Agency of the project "Learn to entrepreneur" to consider fundamental boost to society, and especially young people from different levels of education, promoting the values of entrepreneurial culture, especially those relating to innovation, creativity, responsibility and entrepreneurship.
The review of the international literature and cases have shown as most of the actions for the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit focused on University studies based on various instruments: University-industry foundations, labour and services practices, special departments, among others. The shortage of experience in pre-university educational levels revalue the analysis of the project "Learn to entrepreneur", and can be considered a good practice in this area.
The project "Learn to entrepreneur" arises as specific objectives:
- Promoting entrepreneurship and fostering the creation of enterprises through the development of skills and competences as creativity, self-esteem, observation, ability to work in teams, cooperative learning, social and environmental awareness, analytical and critical thinking, autonomy, flexibility and adaptability, as well as dealing with risks, responsibility, independence, decision, effort, perseverance, etc.
- Contribute to that students are aware of the business world and its social responsibilities, vocational guidance and vocational development itself.
- Promote the image of enterprising individuals as generators of economic and social wealth, which exert an important social role in the promotion of collective welfare.
Actions or activities to be developed are: exhibition and participatory workshops, on-line game "Empren riders" with face-to-face final step, entrepreneurial ideas contest, and entrepreneurial experiences (entrepreneurs of success) contest. The number of students who have been reached with the project since its inception has been a total of 1.800 students. Keywords:
