Abstract:
The modern multipolar multicultural world enhances the role of the translator/interpreter as a mediator promoting understanding between countries and nations, a kind of ambassador of culture. Culture and art today are becoming a factor in the integration and consolidation of peoples, the formation of national identity. The art enhances the spiritual development of a person fostering kindness, compassion and tolerance, stimulates interest in various forms of cultural life, contributes to understanding of cultures, helps overcome stereotypes and biases. Art facilitates coming in contact with a foreign culture and promotes cultural convergence. However, research shows the multicultural potential of art in building a linguistic personality of a linguist is underestimated.
