Abstract:
The issue under study is topical and significant in modern pedagogics and theory of teaching English as a second language because it is related to the fact that application of distance learning education tools, particularly integration of education courses with Modular Object-Oriented Learning Environment (MOODLE) into the process of teaching foreign languages has been significantly increasing for the previous years. The article deals with teaching such aspect of the English language as Grammar, pointing out its advantages and disadvantages. Due to its advantages proved by many researchers, implementation of MOODLE in teaching different aspects of a foreign language has a huge impact on both the maintenance of students’ interest to the process of learning and the improvement of the learning results, providing effectiveness of learning. Scientific methods of the research were literature review, experiment analysis and questionnaire which have allowed the authors to come to a number of conclusions. The research conducted in Kazan Federal University, Russian Federation, provided proof of efficiency of distant courses application in teaching English Grammar to university students, having such advantages as enhancement of students’ academic performance, improvement of their motivation level and learning independence level. Moreover, the results of the experiments allow us to outline the conditions of distant courses implementation under which it can be highly effective.
