Abstract:
Since the beginning of industrial revolution, the institutions of higher education have adopted a structured system through which students are processed, evaluated and awarded degrees. This technique which was designed to provide cadre for the rapidly growing industry functioned efficiently, but delivered functionary leaders to the society and high skilled workers to the industry. Although, great economic growth resulted from the process, the educational purpose and humane aspect of societies worldwide suffered. We believe it is time to assess these short comings and change the methods of educating new generation of students. In this paper we propose a new hybrid method which will deliver highly qualified individuals in an amorphous structure but which is not governed by a specific time frame. Instead, it is defined by stages of achievements in terms accumulated knowledge by a student. The paper offers methodology, curricula and organizational structure for completing a Bachelor's degree in various disciplines using a holistic approach.
