Abstract:
This study investigates that it is most effective to put the students at the center of communication in order to enhance their English skills. This is done by “learning through teaching “approach where the students play the role of the teacher and teach their classmate. It is a student-centered teaching technique for assisting students to a higher skill level by challenging them to teach their class. In this research, the students were divided into groups, and each group has a leader. Every week, the teacher assign a task for one of the groups, and the group should work together to hold a one hour class. The task should be from the course materials that the students are studying. The study found that regardless the difficulty of it at the beginning, students enhance their language level, gain self-confidante, develop an important skill of describing their ideas well enough for others to use them and they are developing their research skills. This approach opens a wide horizon for both the teacher and the learner. Moreover, this approach makes teaching such a powerful tool for cementing the understanding of a subject. Teaching also forces the students to communicate their thoughts clearly and precisely.
