Abstract:
The design thinking process has recently caught the attention of the research community because of its potential impact on improving the way of innovation and solving problems. Besides, many courses emerging and adopted the design thinking process using different tools in terms of encouraging creativity, whether in learning environments or business. However, there are no precise methods to evaluate the design thinking tools and processes to ensure the tools and processes used are practical and significantly impact on developing the kind of knowledge needed and created in innovation. This study aims to evaluate design thinking and its tools in order to obtain very satisfactory results and greatly supportive of innovation and creativity in solving the problem. The paper defines the evolution of knowledge in the innovation processes and the kinds of tools to support its creation. It describes the knowledge created in terms of Bloom's taxonomy and matches this to the tools used in the innovation process. Bloom’s taxonomy has been used by large numbers of instructors who are looking to improve and design their learning. In this paper, we describe the evolution of knowledge in terms of Bloom's taxonomy and verify whether the tools used to match the creativity needed to generate knowledge. Further, this research used Bloom's framework to evaluate the design thinking teaching to promote creativity and problem solving.
