Abstract:
The adaptation of university studies to the European higher education area requires different new activities. These activities are intended to ensure that students assimilate more quickly and efficiently key skills and to increase their ability to reason logically, their teamwork and oral skills communication.
The new subject of Energy and Energetic Sustainability is a compulsory subject in the first quarter of the third course in the degree in Environmental Sciences established at the Faculty of the University of Vigo during 2010/11. This degree presents various subjects with a strong multidisciplinary content. In particular, the main objective of this subject is that students know the concepts, principles, theory and problems of energy use. It belongs to the block of Environmental Quality Management which includes aspects that are related to environmental management systems, environmental impact assessment, eco-efficiency, energy management, environmental audits, environmental risk and prevention. It has a workload for students between 150 and 180 hours (6 ETCS credits) divided into tutorials, seminars, hours of work and study, exams, etc..
