Abstract:
Technology has been widely used in education in general and especially in the physical sciences. Software has attracted many physics teachers to explain physics examples in the class. The way that they make understanding easier by calling the theoretical part and the application simultaneously inside the class is appealing to many teachers and students as well. In this paper, we will design some examples in mechanics using Algodoo. This software is user friendly and flexible to design a physical application in mechanics. It can be easily used by the students and it is free to download.

A physics example has been described in this paper. This example basically describes the static friction of an object over an inclined plane. The critical angle at which the object is on the verge of motion will be shown in relation to the static friction coefficient. The main objective of this paper is to show how technology such as Algodoo can provide more understanding in a mechanical system and improve students’ understanding.
